The United Jewish Congregation of Hong Kong welcomes you, your family and friends to join in our community Passover Seder. We are looking forward to celebrating together.
As always, our traditional Seder will include the recital of the Haggadah and all your favorite songs, with an emphasis on participation by adults and children. It is designed to be a creative and spiritual experience for the community and family in which young and old will find renewed meaning in this ancient ceremony. The Seder is a wonderful opportunity to meet other members of the UJC community as well as visitors and friends.
Please click here to download and complete the Seder booking form in full and return it to the UJC office. Because of the size of the Garden Room, attendance will be limited to 220 people. Registration will be on a first come-first served basis, so please register as soon as possible.
Meal Information:
All Passover ritual foods and old-time favorites will be part of our celebration. All food at the Seder will be Kosher. The main course will be either chicken or a vegetarian dish. Your preference must be indicated when you book.
The evening’s cost includes kosher table and sacramental wine. Grape juice will be served for children. Other wines will be available and may be purchased on your JCC account before Seder begins and during the meal.
Children:
We will have a children’s room available for the use of children under age 9 as a play-place. All children MUST BE supervised by an adult in the playroom. We suggest you bring your Helper to be able to assist you with this. Please note this room will only be open after the Afikoman has been found.
Under Festival halachah/rules of the JCC, children must NOT play with the following: NO videos, electronic games, iPads, or phones. NO coloring, drawing, or art activities. Please do not bring these toys for your children.
The JCC playground will be available to children attending the Seder, but parents must provide supervision.
You are reminded that the meal will be served part way through the Seder ritual. As with all Seders, this does tend to be a late evening for our younger members. It is recommended they nap earlier in the day and then eat a hearty snack before arriving, to keep them going.
Children older than 9, should remain at the tables with their parents and participate fully in the Seder.
Seating and Check In:
Please indicate your seating preferences on the booking form. We will make every attempt to place you with your preferred choices.
You are welcome to check in at The Garden Room on L3 of the JCC beginning at 6:00pm on 22nd April. For security purposes, please bring a Hong Kong or other picture ID. The Seder will begin promptly at 6:30pm.
Please remember that the use of phones, cameras, and other electronic devices is strictly prohibited at the JCC on the evening of the Seder.
