Shabbat Dinner Menus

Special Announcement Regarding Shabbat Dinners
We’ve been advised by the JCC that they need earlier notice of Shabbat Dinner reservations in order to deal with staffing issues and to avoid significant loss and  food waste.  In consultation with the JCC we arrived at the following policy:

Reservations for Shabbat Dinner must be received by The UJC office NO LATER THAN 10:00 AM ON THURSDAY.
You must have a reservation in order to attend Shabbat Dinner.

This policy will take immediate effect so that reservations for Shabbat Dinner are due to The UJC office no later than Thursday at 10:00 AM.

Thank you for your help and your timely bookings!

Shabbat Dinner
For many years, the weekly UJC Shabbat Dinners have been a hallmark of our congregational programming, bringing together members, friends, and visitors for a traditional Shabbat celebration.

As such we appeal to the members of the UJC to help continue this tradition by sponsoring and hosting a Shabbat dinner.

Join us for Shabbat Dinner.  Here’s the menu for next two weeks:

Cost: HK$200 (Adult), HK$70 (Children’s meal up to 12).
To ensure enough food for everybody, you MUST reserve your place at the table by contacting The UJC office by Thursday, 20th February no later than 10:00 AM.

Next Friday, 28th February

Information for Sponsors

Anyone wishing to sponsor a dinner can choose to be very involved in the planning or just a little.

Dinner costs are based on the menu cost and the number of people who attend. You may choose your own menu style and food. The dinners are served family style, that is in larger dishes for self service, which helps contribute to the community feeling of the meal.

Nancy is available to help and clarify anything you need to discuss, so give her a call at 2523-2985 to arrange your special Shabbat.

For Shabbatot when dinner is not sponsored, we offer a “Dutch Treat” opportunity to continue our important community meals at the Jewish Community Centre. Here’s how it works:

Nancy and Charlene will take bookings for the dinner up until 10:00 AM Thursday morning.  Cost for adults: HK$200.  Cost for children up to 12: HK$70.
(Advance notice is particularly important so the UJC staff can order the right amount of food from the JCC.)
